This book features THE HOME WE SHARE through some one hundred conceptual diagrams, hand drawings, architectural plans, construction photos, and photographic documentation of the three realized projects on the Princeton campus. R&R STUDIOS creates architecture and artworks that perform as social sculptures and tools for the pursuit of happiness.
We weave together visual arts, architecture, design, landscape and the city. The ambition of our practice is to reclaim, enhance and develop the public dimension of the city. We seek to produce a public architecture that highlights the communal and civic dimension of life and erases boundaries between art and everyday life. We understand our work as experiments in public space, models of possibilities that might imbue the construction of the city with new meaning and emotion.
Our social sculptures, squares, parks, buildings, books, paintings, drawings, photographs, models, installations, objects, furniture and texts are all part of a web of interconnected ideas that feed off and into each other. They propose encounters of stories and spaces, which alternate between the poetical and the political, the quotidian and the fantastic, the real and the utopian, the North and the South.
We have known each other since childhood, we study architecture together and received Diplomas in Architecture and Urbanism from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario in Argentina and later attended the legendary Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies in New York City. We have taught, lectured and served as visiting critics at major universities including Harvard GSD, Yale University, Cornell University, Universita IUAV di Venezia, and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Roberto is currently a Professor in Practice at the University of Miami and has been a Visiting Artist at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles and the American Academy in Rome.
The work of R&R STUDIOS has been exhibited in galleries, and in group and solo museum shows, and is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires, the Archives d’Architecture Moderne in Brussels, the Pérez Art Museum Miami, Madison MOCA, and the Princeton University Art Museum, among others. R&R STUDIOS artworks have been featured in over 350 publications worldwide and five monographs (R&R Alphabet, The Peace Project, M, The Living Room, and Museum Works). A comprehensive monograph of R&R STUDIOS is scheduled for publication by Park Books, Zurich, in 2027.
Our large-scale social sculptures create theaters for everyday life, platforms for life to unfold, they inspire togetherness and imagination, inviting people to inhabit, move through, and engage with public spaces in ways that reveal the marvel of the real and imagine the city as our shared home. Our most recognized artworks include the biggest “M” in the world in Miami; All Together Now in downtown Denver; The Living Room, our iconic Miami home turned inside out; Bésame Mucho and SUPERNOVA at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival; Building Blocks, a pocket square in Seattle; I Love You, a proposal to poetically transform the Miami skyline.
Most recently, we completed Peace & Love, a Parkland High-school Memorial with Bloomberg Philanthropies and the City of Coral Springs, Dream Palace for Lollapalooza Argentina. We also unveiled three new public artworks for the Princeton University Art Museum, documented in the book The Home We Share: Three Social Sculptures for Princeton University (Park Books, Zurich, 2025), and Beauty for All, a billboard and visual manifesto for the 2025 Chicago Architecture Biennial.
